Customers run for safety as bullets reverberate at a Staten Island barbershop

TOMPKINSVILLE, Staten Island (WABC) – New video has been released from inside a barbershop as a teenage girl and 35-year-old woman have been shot and injured.

Surveillance footage shows around 10 people inside the business, jumping as bullets passed through the front window.

The shooting took place Wednesday afternoon at 63 Victory Boulevard in the Tompkinsville section of Staten Island.

The two victims are recovering.

So far, no arrests have been made and the motive for the shooting is unknown.

Salon owner Bousso Babou said she was there when the bullets exploded and is not sure why her store was targeted.

“They were looking for someone here. We were innocent,” she said. “They could have waited for them to come out of the store. Whatever they do, they do there. Because we work here. Everyone was innocent. Anyone could have died here.”

NewsCopter 7 was at the scene and could see at least two bullet holes in the shattered storefront.

It is not known whether the shooting was targeted or random.

Few other details were released at this time.
