When it comes to beauty tutorials, the internet is full of content of all kinds. No matter how you like them – devout, psychedelic, with a criminal side – there is something for everyone. However, online tutorials can often lack a certain personal tactile element that you get from an IRL experience. Nothing like a live workshop, where you can interact with the experts, ask your questions and see the process up close and in person.
That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that two of beauty’s most exciting names right now are hosting live tutorials as part of Dazed Live, a two-day event celebrating Dazed’s 30th anniversary. Taking place at Dazed Headquarters from October 9-10, the celebration will feature music, art, fashion, activism and beauty with everything from live performances, screenings, exhibits and workshops.
The beauty part of the weekend sees makeup artist Lynski and hairstylist John Allan sharing their best tips and tricks in two live tutorials. The first is Lynski, who will showcase his avant-garde style in a workshop for his signature airbrush technique. Hailing from Latvia, now based in London, Lynski’s ethereal yet futuristic makeup masterpieces begin as a whirlwind of ideas in her self-proclaimed restless mind, which she then translates into faces with brilliant pigments and vibrant accents. and colorful.
And you won’t want to miss boundary-pushing hairstylist and maverick John Allan who will be leading a tutorial on wild sculptural wigs. Known for rejecting the mundane and embracing groovy ’70s styles, Allan has a penchant for adventurous cuts – think mules and mohawks. First an apprentice to Toni and Guy Milton Keynes, he has grown into one of London’s most sought-after session stylists with clients such as Beabadoobee and Mowalola.
