PATHUM THANI: Police at Pak Klong Rangsit station have charged the owner of a hair salon with murder after he allegedly stabbed a dissatisfied customer and her husband to death over the weekend.
Prasart Rangyai, 51, owner of Pimmy hair salon at a Lotus supermarket in tambon Bang Kadi of Muang district, turned himself in to police around 11pm on Saturday after the man and woman were murdered in the center commercial around 3 p.m. the same day.
Police say he stabbed them after they refused to leave his store and threatened to sue him and file a complaint with the management of the Lotus shopping center.
Warisara Wimulrakchart, 41, was fatally stabbed in the chest and her husband Weerapong Pumpruek in the neck, in front of their horrified 8-year-old daughter.
The two victims, who were television actors, both died at the scene, while the attacker fled on a motorbike.
The couple’s eldest daughter, 20, said her mother told her earlier that a hairdresser had cut her hair too short and in the wrong style.
Kwang, the 27-year-old hairstylist who cut Warisara’s hair last Thursday, said she had already apologized to the woman, who then had her hair fixed by another branch of the salon.
Later, she returned with her husband and insisted on speaking with the owner of the salon.
The slain woman’s father, Chuchart Wimulrakchart, 60, said his daughter returned to the salon to speak to the owner after arguing on the phone.
Security camera footage showed the killer pulling a knife from his pocket while speaking with the couple. He stabbed each victim once.
Mr. Prasart was charged with premeditated murder and unlawful possession of a weapon in public.
