A Rossendale hair salon is celebrating 40 years in business with a party for regular customers later this month.
The party will take place at the Razors Hair Company salon in Burnley Road, Bacup, Rossendale and will run from 7pm to 11pm on Saturday August 20, where revelers can come anytime for drinks and canapes with staff and customers.
Kim Johnson founded the company in July 1982 when she was just 19 and has owned and worked at the salon for 40 years.
She said: “Some of the customers I still do today have been with me most of the time I have been open, and I have seen many of their children grow up to be customers as well.
Kim, 59, is throwing the party to mark the milestone celebration and recognize all the hard work her staff have put into the business.
The salon has nurtured some of the best talent in the hairdressing industry and has seen many former employees become senior stylists, managers, business owners and mobile hairdressers around Rossendale – and even as far away as Australia .
There are currently three stylists at Razors Hair, and Kim said: “My team currently consists of myself, Emma Jones who has been with me for 24 years and Katie Jordan who is our apprentice.
“My newest longtime stylist Emma Michell, who has just left the team, has just opened the EMI hair academy in Stacksteads.”
Proud to be a casual salon, Kim shared that Razors Hair is not just a place for people to get their hair cut, but a fun experience and catch up with their regular customers.
Kim sees clients from all walks of life and has clients as young as one year old and even 101 years old.
The salon caters to everyone and cuts hair for both men and women. Many of their clients have been with them for years because of the quality of service and professionalism they provide.
Kim added: “To thank you, we invite all our customers and all staff who have worked with us over the years and wish to join us.
“It would be great to get together and see you all of our friends and families who have supported us over the years.”
